A Shadow Protector

Swiftpaw silently walked RainClan territory borders, standing to smell for intruders every now and then. He continued patrol, his turquoise eyes darting here and there.

Swiftpaw, spotting the medicine cat, crouched low in the foliage, the shadows of the branches making him nearly invisible. He pounced at Violetpool with a deafening scream, claws outstretched.

Swiftpaw landed in the herbs with a crunch, and looked into Violetpool's eyes. His own eyes swirled with different hues of blue and green. He growled lowly, and dug his claws into the soft earth.

Swiftpaw launched himself at Violetpool again, his claws wrapping around her neck. Blood began to redden his pure black fur.

[Sorry I took forever]

Swiftpaw leaps up and hisses, "What do you want?"

Swiftpaw stood straight, his turquoise eyes slowing their swirling loop. "Go," he growled deeply.

Swiftpaw shook his head, and began to stalk away. He stopped, looking behind him as Violetpool gathered herbs. His eyes began to dance again, but he just turned away.

Swiftpaw seemed to prowl in circles for the next few minutes. He glanced around, Violetpool's silver silhouette barely visible in the bushes. He opened his mouth to say something, but instead, a faint mew slipped out.

Swiftpaw darted out into the clearing in which the battle took place. He gathered up the unaffected herbs, and trotted up to Violetpool. He pressed his moist nose into her fur to get her attention, and dropped the herbs to her paws.

Swiftpaw smiled. He dipped his nose to the ground, and he suddenly felt a soft vibrations in his throat. He tried hard to make it stop, but its volume increased. He swallowed, trying to muffle the sound instead.

Swiftpaw's turquoise eyes were now tinted with gold, and were swirling slowly, yet wildly. He swallowed once more hen the purring arose again.

Swiftpaw sniffed the strong scent of herbs as he involuntarily inched towards Violetpool. His whiskers twitched, and his eyes now looked like the globe.

One of Swiftpaw's paws stepped on one of the herbs. He pulled it back, and as he went to set it back on the ground, it softly landed on Violetpool's. He pulled it back again, and set it in the soil away from the herbs and Violetpool's paws.
